Resilience

#resilience – an over-used word? What does it mean? George Vaillant describes it as a ‘twig with a fresh, green, living core. When twisted out of shape, such a twig bends, but does not break; instead, it springs back and continues growing’ (Aging Well, 2002).
The #therapeuticrelationship can help increase your #emotional flexibility, and #heal if you feel ‘broken’.
#personcentredcounselling and #psychotherapy starts from the premise that each person’s flexibility and breaking point is unique, as is the #recovery  from #trauma . I’m not an expert in trauma (and may never be ‘expert’ in anything), but I hope to help you find the conditions that will foster your #growth ,as much as my current competency allows.
